Mervis innovates when others have thrown in the towel. A manufacturer had stockpiled its steel and plastic composite sheets for a decade, certain there must be a way to reuse the plastic. But the separation challenge had stumped other companies. Confident of our engineers' abilities, Mervis agreed to invest in solving the complex problem. We moved the 12 million pounds of material to one of our sites and got to work.
The proprietary process we invented successfully separates the steel from the plastic. We then transform the recovered plastic into pellets that go back to the manufacturer for reuse. Through our partnership, waste is drastically reduced—at great benefit to the environment—and our client saves significant material cost.
