1. Health Benefits
The current Third Party Administrator for health insurance is BAS, which is well-recognized in the Central Illinois/Indiana area yet allows you to seek medical treatment anywhere in the country. It includes a PPO program that pays 90% after the deductible is met (80% if the service is out-of-network) as well as a prescription drug card. The health insurance plan takes effect on the first day of the month following 60 days of service.
2. Life Insurance
A life insurance benefit for the employee is part of the health insurance package and will take effect at the same time. Coverage will be $30,000 Life + $30,000 for Accidental Death and Dismemberment.
Employees are enrolled in the Mervis Industries profit sharing and 401K Plan on the first opening date (July 1st or January 1st) following the completion of 120 days of service. The profit sharing plan guarantees a deposit each year equal to 3% of an employee’s annual wages.
4. Employee Assistance Program
Eight free counseling sessions are available to the employee and dependents for each problem they might have in all areas—from personal, financial, or family to difficulties with other employees and supervisors.
5. Paid holidays
Paid holidays are Christmas Day, Labor Day, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Memorial Day, Friday following Thanksgiving, and July 4th.
One week of paid vacation is given to an employee at the end of the first year of employment. Vacation accrual increases by one day each year until reaching four weeks, which is the maximum allowable accrual.
7. Tuition Assistance Program
After an employee has worked for the Company for 6 months, they are eligible for tuition assistance in classes that pertain to the workplace. The Company will provide reimbursement for tuition and books if a grade of C or better is received.
