Who Recycles?

The scrap recycling industry is dedicated to collecting, sorting, and dismantling materials to be used in the manufacturing of new products.

The industry could be called the “original recyclers” since they have been recycling for centuries. Household recycling didn’t become common in the US until the 1980’s.

Millions of tons of scrap are converted into useful reclaimed materials by scrap recyclers experts every day. Without this recycling, raw materials would need to be mined and refined before they could be useful.
