1. Health Benefits

The current Third Party Administrator for health insurance is PBA, which is well-recognized in the Central Illinois/Indiana area yet allows you to seek medical treatment anywhere in the country. It includes a PPO program that pays 80% after the deductible is met (60% if the service is out-of-network) as well as a prescription drug card. The health insurance plan takes effect on the first day of the month following 60 days of service.

2. Life Insurance

A life insurance benefit for the employee will take effect at the same time health benefits begin. Coverage will be $30,000 Life + $30,000 for Accidental Death and Dismemberment. A company paid life insurance benefit for the employee will take effect on the first of the following month after 60 days of employment.

3. 401K

Employees are enrolled in the Mervis Industries profit sharing and 401K Plan on the first opening date (July 1st or January 1st) following the completion of 120 days of service. The profit sharing plan guarantees a deposit each year equal to 3% of an employee’s annual wages.

4. Employee Assistance Program

Eight free counseling sessions are available to the employee and dependents for each problem they might have in all areas—from personal, financial, or family to difficulties with other employees and supervisors.

5. Paid holidays

Paid holidays are Christmas Day, Labor Day, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Memorial Day, Friday following Thanksgiving, and July 4th.

6. Vacations

Are determined during the hiring process.

7. Tuition Assistance Program

After an employee has worked for the Company for 6 months, they are eligible for tuition assistance in classes that pertain to the workplace. The Company will provide reimbursement for tuition and books if a grade of C or better is received.

Illini Castings 3rd shift Welder/Grinder – Hours 9pm – 5:30am

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This job requires the employee to operate an eight inch grinder. Grinding coupler butts back to AAR specifications. This will require the employee to be trained in how to read a specified AAR gauge. It is required that the employee wear a welding jacket/leathers/3M respiratory PPE. The employee will need the stamina to stand and grind for approximately 7.5 hours a day.

DUTIES:

  1. Grinding a 4×4 area to the recommended AAR gauge recommendations.
  2. Welding coupler ends to AAR gauge recommendations.
  3. After coupler is completed the employee must gauge to make sure that it meets the proper specifications.
  4. Housekeeping and any other duty specified by manager.

 

Decatur 1st shift Crane Operator

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Using a mobile crane, the employee in this position will load and unload trucks as well as handling material for processing. The employee will need to have the agility to climb on and off the crane as well as move freely about the yard. This position reports directly to the yard foreman or manager and will work closely with the heavy equipment operators in feeding their processing equipment.

DUTIES:

  1. Operate the machine’s controls in order to perform the designated task within the machine’s capabilities
  2. Recognize the machine’s limitations in order to work safely in a large variety of job situations
  3. Recognize operational control problems and report them to the supervisor so they can be adjusted or repaired
  4. Assist the mechanics in the repair and routine maintenance of the machines

 

Decatur Maintenance Mechanic

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This job requires the employee to make repairs on trucks, trailers and heavy equipment used in the processing and transport of scrap metals. It is imperative to this position that the employee be physically able to lift or move up to 100 pounds. It is part of the essential functions of the job that the maintenance mechanic will be able to climb onto and sometimes into heavy machinery.

DUTIES:

  1. Diagnose and make routine repairs and service for trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  2. Replace parts and components when necessary to rebuild units at regular intervals.
  3. Weld parts as necessary
  4. Operate the machine’s controls in order to perform the designated task within the machine’s capabilities
  5. Recognize the machine’s limitations in order to work safely in a large variety of job situations
  6. Recognize operational control problems and coordinate their repair with outside vendors.
  7. Train and assist the operators in the routine care of the machines
  8. Schedule equipment for and perform preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment, coordinating these activities with the yard operations manager

 

Indy Plastics 1st Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician

Seeking an experienced multi trade maintenance technician to join our maintenance team. Candidates must possess a solid electro-mechanical background with hands on industrial equipment maintenance experience. This full time permanent position includes competitive salary and benefits that include medical, and dental insurance. Starting wage will be based on experience and training.

This position requires:

  1. Working knowledge of air compressors, pumps and plumbing.
  2. Ability to read and understand relay logic and electrical diagrams.
  3. Installation of conduit, panel boxes, motors, power and lighting circuits.
  4. Installation, startup and trouble-shooting of process equipment.
  5. Knowledgeable in mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  6. Perform basic welding and fabrication for repairs and modifications.
  7. Familiarity with RCM, PM &. PdM concepts and application.
  8. PLC, SCADA and industrial Ethernet experience a plus.
  9. Work with Minimum supervision.
