Class A CDL driver – Springfield

  *** please note job requires 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience and a clean MVR  ***   SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The employee in this position must operate a tractor trailer, operate a straight truck, spot roll-off boxes, spot trailers, and perform the daily maintenance that is necessary for the peak performance of the truck.  The position may also require the driver to perform pick-ups as well as deliveries at a variety of locations and assist in the operation of equipment at the yard.   DUTIES:
  1. Operate tractor trailer and straight truck, according to state laws and observing all traffic laws and safety regulations
  2. Operate roll-off controls and couple and un-couple roll off boxes.
  3. Make pick-ups and deliveries
  4. Climb loads for inspection of scrap material, and covering loads with a tarps as necessary.
  5. Spot roll-off boxes, dumpsters, and trailers
  6. Maintains any related paperwork and records
  7. Maintain equipment used in the performance of the job and reports any maintenance malfunctions to management
  8. Obtains the proper shipping documents with necessary signatures and returns the completed paperwork to the office
  9. Assists in the general labor duties where needed
  ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. CDL class “A” license
  2. Clean MVR
  3. Must meet the DOT physical and medical requirements & good driving record
  4. Unblemished work and attendance record
  5. The agility to climb on and off trucks for the loading of materials, hooking and unhooking air controls and tarping loads
  6. The strength and flexibility to lift and move 50 pounds manually
  SPECIFIC SKILLS:
  1. Basic knowledge of the vehicle he/she is to drive and the daily maintenance requirements
  2. Basic knowledge of the machinery he/she will be using in the yard
  3. The ability to follow directions and read maps
  4. A knowledge of the weight and load restrictions for the roll-off boxes, dumpsters, and trailers that will be pulled
  EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
  1. A minimum of 2 years of driving experience required

Welder/Fabricator – Decatur

  SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The employee in this position must enjoy working with their hands have an eye for detail and an analytical mind. In addition you must be able to use variety of tools and equipment, ability to read blueprints, recognize welding symbols and specifications. You must also prepare, fabricate and weld various constructions, components and structures from patterns and blueprints using a variety of tools and machines to make metal parts or assemble components.   DUTIES: 
  1. Be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans
  2. Fabricate Metal Objects by laying out, cutting, and fitting, measuring and welding metals to create the desired shape or object.
  3. Constantly inspect and test welds and equipment for durability.
  4. Perform detailed quality checks to ensure that it meets all standards and requirements. Document work and results, and keep records or labor and materials used.
  5. Use a variety of tools to work with metal. Operate cutting saws to cut various metals, and weld and grind and grand fabricated structures to meet structural requirements.
  6. 6. Use a shear machine, metal roller, A larger cutter .208 and 480 amp Mig Welder.
    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Ability to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature.
  2. Ability to operate different tools, and to troubleshoot equipment problems
  3. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  4. The endurance to stand for approximately 7.5 hours or more each day
  5. The strength and flexibility to lift and move up to 50 pounds manually

Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Decatur and Danville

  SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This job requires the employee to make major repairs on mobile Heavy Equipment. It is imperative that this employee has or willing to receive formal training with the proper certification or equivalent experience to be proficient at mechanical repairs. The mechanic must have the strength and agility to lift 40+ pounds and climb on to the vehicles for the purpose of diagnosis and repair.   DUTIES: • Complete equipment inspections, report repairs and assist in scheduling repairs. • Operate service truck safely and efficiently. • Assist in maintaining inventory or service kits, lubes, oils, and other supplies. • Identify, diagnose, and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs. • Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment components on large equipment, such as cranes and other equipment used to process scrap metal. • Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Perform electrical 12v/24v, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance. • Troubleshoot issues with diesel and gas engines. • Troubleshoot issues with Aftertreatment systems. • Ability to use Maintenance software for fault code diagnosing. • Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs. • Complete shop paperwork in a timely manner. • Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Performing service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations. • Ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. • Performing equipment repairs in response to maintenance requests, in shop or in field locations • Repairing heavy equipment, removing/replacing components. • Using diagnostic procedures and test equipment to identify and correct equipment faults including but not limited to the ability to read a schematic. • Performing scheduled maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, forklifts, service trucks. • Diagnosing mechanical problems and making repairs as necessary without supervision. • Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed • Operating heavy equipment to test repaired machinery. • Be work ready with a positive attitude.

Mechanic – Decatur IL

  SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Responsible for maintenance of Hydraulic Cranes, some OTR trucks, roll off containers, electrical systems on all mobile equipment used in the scrap metal recycling yard.  Class B CDL is a plus.   DUTIES:
  • Diagnosing, repairing engines, hydraulic systems, electrical, brakes, routine maintenance.
  • Replace parts and components when necessary to rebuild units at regular intervals.
  • Weld parts as necessary
  • Operate the machine’s controls in order to perform the designated task within the machine’s capabilities
  • Recognize the machine’s limitations in order to work safely in a large variety of job situations
  • Recognize operational control problems and coordinate their repair with outside vendors.

Parts Clerk - Decatur

  SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The primary function of this position is to operate the parts department which consists of purchasing required materials, inventory control, picking up parts, and maintaining job orders. In the course of these duties, the employee will be expected to climb ladders to reach and lift parts into place as well as moving parts manually that might weigh up to 40 pounds. This part of the job will take up to 80% of the employee’s time. In addition, the parts clerk will assist the Garage Manager in any clerical duties that might be needed, including answering the inquiries from the yard managers.   DUTIES:
  1. Purchasing – ordering parts needed in everyday operation of the facility
  2. Inventory Control – maintaining and accurate parts list and restocking the parts department
  3. Maintaining job orders – invoicing proper divisions for parts and service
  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Drug free
