1. Health Benefits
The current Third Party Administrator for health insurance is PBA, which is well-recognized in the Central Illinois/Indiana area yet allows you to seek medical treatment anywhere in the country. It includes a PPO program that pays 80% after the deductible is met (60% if the service is out-of-network) as well as a prescription drug card. The health insurance plan takes effect on the first day of the month following 60 days of service.
2. Life Insurance
Mervis Industries provides all eligible employees with a $30,000 Basic Life and a $30,000 AD&D coverage through Sun Life Financial Group at no cost to you. A company paid life insurance benefit for the employee will take effect on the first of the following month after 60 days of employment regardless of enrollment into a health plan.
Employees are enrolled in the Mervis Industries profit sharing and 401K Plan on the first opening date (July 1st or January 1st) following the completion of 120 days of service. The profit sharing plan guarantees a deposit each year equal to 3% of an employee’s annual wages.
4. Employee Assistance Program
Eight free counseling sessions are available to the employee and dependents for each problem they might have in all areas—from personal, financial, or family to difficulties with other employees and supervisors.
5. Paid holidays
Paid holidays are Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday following Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
This benefit is determined during the hiring process.
7. Tuition Assistance Program
After an employee has worked for the Company for six months, they are eligible for tuition assistance in classes that pertain to the workplace. The Company will provide reimbursement for tuition and books if a grade of “C” or better is received.
